Hasta Luego Seville
It is hard to believe that my 13 weeks in Seville have come to an end. The past 3 months have been so exciting and filled with so much adventure, laughter, and lessons learned. The days that were leading up to this day were bittersweet. Once it was December the only phrase that was going on in my head was “this is my last time doing . . .” A place that I was so scared to enter by myself in September became so familiar to me. As much as I am excited to be with my family and friends again, I will miss my home in Spain.
The ICS staff have been nothing but supportive and welcoming to me and the other students since we have arrived. Thank you so much for helping all of us get assimilated to the city, a place so foreign to us quickly became our home. Without your help, I do not think I would have loved the city as much as I do now. Thank you for all the hard work planning events and making the transition so easy for us.
To my host mom and host dog Chico who was amazing to have. Thank you for allowing me to be in your humble abode. I enjoyed waking up to Chico’s footsteps in the morning and him welcoming me every time I came back home. I enjoyed eating my host mom’s cooking as she is a wonderful cook. A sweet woman whom I will miss eating lunch with while watching her favorite show.
Finally to my amazing friends whom I made these past 3 months. Although I met most of you during our pre-departure zoom meetings, I was going into this alone. I had no idea what was going to come but the bright side was that all 9 of us did not know either. We experienced all our firsts together and I am glad we did. I will miss the random meetups under my window to get drinks, the walks across the city, the amazing food we shared, and lastly all of the laughs and adventures. I know I will meet up with most of you back in Hawaii but to those who I will not see for a while, I know you will do amazing things in life, and I will continue to support you from Hawaii!
